Nora Lighting has been named a 2012 Platinum Award winner for the company’s Eric pendant in the Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) competition, sponsored by Design Journal magazine. In the last 17 years, ADEX has become the largest and most prestigious awards program for product design of furniture, fixtures and finishes marketed to the design trade.
Upon receiving notification of the award, Nora Lighting President Fred Farzan said:
“With nearly 3,000 competing entries, it is a significant honor to be recognized by the ADEX Award for Design Excellence. ADEX is one of the most prestigious product design awards in the lighting industry. This commendation recognizes Nora’s commitment to product innovation and style, specifically with our award-winning Eric pendant.
“This recognition could only have been possible with the exceptional team effort at Nora Lighting. From our design and sales and marketing staff to our customer service personnel, everyone at Nora shares in this important honor.”
The 2011-12 ADEX Awards attracted upwards of 500 companies submitting more than 2,800 innovative new products, reported John Platter, executive director of ADEX.
“The ADEX Award has recognized many outstanding product designs over the years, and Nora Lighting’s Eric pendant has earned its place among that elite group.”

Designed for easy installation and versatility, Eric offers a range of mounting options, such as: rail, track, canopy mount or Nora quick jack system.Light sources include 40W G9 line voltage; 60W E12 candelabra base line voltage; and 50W bi-pin G 5.3 / 6.35 low voltage.
All of the entries in each of the ADEX categories have potential for three award levels of platinum, gold or silver. Judges awarded points based on form, function, value, and fitness for particular purpose. Total points earned determined each winner’s award level. All Platinum, Gold and Silver level products will be published in the 2012 ADEX Winners Issue of Design Journal, the international trade publication for interior designers, architects and facility managers.
