Gotham Lighting, an established innovator and manufacturer of architectural downlighting, recently collaborated with agency representatives across North America to demonstrate that quality experiences extend beyond product innovation. As part of the Gotham Agent Contest celebrating the launch of the groundbreaking IVO™ family, winning agencies were invited to host events focused on giving back, education, and connection within their communities.
Through Acuity’s EarthLIGHT initiative, each winning agency received a $5,000 charitable donation to donate to a local nonprofit of their choice. The events combined community service with professional engagement, including CEU presentations and product showcases designed to bring peers and customers together.
Highlights include:
-Acuity Brands Canada assembled 50 food bags for a local food bank and donated $5,000 to Yellow Brick House, a crisis center for women and children. The team concluded the day with a CEU lunch-and-learn at Mulvey & Banani, connecting with the engineering community.
-Electratek Sales Ltd. delivered a CEU session, introduced the IVO platform, and prepared care packages for families in need. Their $5,000 prize supported Chat4Chad, a nonprofit focused on ending mental health stigma in Canada.
-WSC Lighting Systems (Wharton Sales Co. Ltd.) prepared 50 care bags for chemotherapy patients and, with a match from Scott and Steve Wharton, contributed a total of $10,000 to the Breast Care Centre at St. Joseph’s Health Care London.
-Wow Lighting and Controls Inc. hosted an educational event on architectural downlighting, donated $5,000 to the Zebra Child & Youth Advocacy Centre, and prepared 50 food care packages for the Edmonton Food Bank.
Gotham and its agency representatives are proud to show that by combining innovation with purpose, the lighting industry can create experiences that leave a lasting impact well beyond the products.
