The Current Conditions component increased to 65.8 in August from 63.0 in July, remaining in expansionary territory. Forty-two percent of respondents reported “better” conditions, 11 percent reported “worse,” and 47 percent indicated conditions were unchanged. Comments pointed to stronger orders, shipments, and quote activity, supported by grid modernization and data center investment, while trade policy uncertainty, inflation, and project delays remained concerns.
