Position: Business Development Manager- Lighting
Location: Southeast
Company Description: Growing established 100-year Global vertically integrated supplier. This market leader in furniture and room illumination is looking for a passionate leader to develop a strategic direction and road map for new business opportunities in additional market segments (ie: office spaces, hospitality, healthcare, etc.), distribution channels, and product. The individual will then provide leadership and vision to ensure that the new Business Unit has the proper operations, organization, and systems in place to effectively grow and to ensure financial strength and efficiency.
Base Salary: Commensurate with experience, plus significant performance bonus potential, Relocation package to headquarters

Position Responsibilities:
Work with the Executive Team to create and solidify goals and vision for future growth of the company.
Prepare high-level business strategies and plans to ensure alignment with company vision and goals.
Develop and implement annual strategic initiatives.
Develop short-term and long-term objectives that are designed to meet strategic goals.
Define proper resources are available to achieve objectives and goals.
Make high-quality decisions to advance the business and increase profits.
Improving overall gross margin and the reduction of business costs. This will include goals and plans around the: optimization of capabilities and groups; improving market competitiveness; establishing increasing efficiencies and general business performance.
Develop improved business KPI’s that reflect the current and future performance of the Business Unit. Develop a vision for the future with forecasts and plans for capital expenditure and headcount. Work closely with sales and accounting and establish future business plan scenario’s that promote greater market share and profitability.
Responsible to motivate and communicate to cross multi-level boundaries within an organization to promote teamwork. This would include external customer interaction and building strong rapport with internal groups such as: Sales; Customer Service, Engineering; and Quality Assurance.
Assist in the planning, development and implementation of the organization’s fiscal function and performance.
Partner with high-level officers to grow the company, strengthen it and ensure its sustainability.
Build trust relations with key partners and customers to act as a point of contact.
Represent the company as required, including attendance at important functions, industry events and public meetings.
Keep current with new technology and industry innovations.
Plan and evaluate the performance of team members, establish performance measures and personal developmental goals, monitor performance and provide coaching for staff.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years in relevant senior management position in the lighting industry
Undergraduate degree required. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrated knowledge sound fiscal and operational management
Excellent computer proficiency
