By way of interaction with and participation in the concept/prototype/usability/evaluation phases of our research and development process, this Senior Human Factor Engineering position will influence the evolution of lighting product and application concepts, features and user interface aspects of OSRAM SYLVANIA’s leading edge, interactive and breakthrough lighting technologies. Candidate must have extensive experience in user-centered design of consumer products and be comfortable with the challenges of a lean, demanding research environment.

The incumbent will interact with internal and external customers, be familiar with statistical analysis of user research, and must have exceptional communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills/competencies.

Educational Requirements:

* Bachelor degree in biology, human factors or related field and 10 yrs of relevant experience
* or Masters degree in biology or human factors and 5 yrs of relevant experience
* or PhD entry level preferably with post doc experience

All candidates must have experience in a research environment with demonstrated experience conducting user studies. Familiarity with lighting and vision science, color and color rendering would be a plus. Must demonstrate strong verbal/written communications skills and be comfortable interacting with all levels of experience, expertise, functions and technical discipline. Must have experience in conducting effective negotiating/interactive sessions with other human factor, software, hardware and applications engineers/scientists.
