The Senior Applications Engineer position will be responsible for Solid State Lighting application developments and engineering support to product marketing, R&D, sales channel, and end customers.

The qualified candidate needs to be knowledgeable in LED technology, thermal management, optical design and system integration. He/she will involve in various LED lighting applications such as down light and retail display in general illumination arena, and will work with product marketing and R&D to develop the product specification and involve in various product development stages. Major applications supports also include develop and create technical literature and sales tools required for pre-sales activities, such as data sheets, application notes, installation guides, etc.

Post-Sales support include providing direct technical support to the sales channels and to the end customers through LED lighting layout, electrical configurations, presentations, product demonstrations, as well as direct customer interaction.

Other application-related tasks can help the business unit achieve its business goals, such as product and application benchmarking following standard practices and procedures in analyzing product performance data, market data and other sources to perform product benchmark, channels and customer training, trade shows support, internal and external presentation on LED systems and applications, and other assigned activities.

BS in Engineering required with minimum 7 yrs related experience.

Preferred candidate will have MS/PhD in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years in technical development or engineering roles, and 2 years minimum in Solid State Lighting field (or minimum of 7 years related experience).

Required experience includes working knowledge and experience of LED technology and components, thermal management, optical simulation, CAD software, MSWord, MSExcel, Power Point.

Hands-on lab and technical skills include: optical, thermal, and electrical measurement, electronic design and basic machining is necessary.

Requires outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

Preference is for local candidates or those who will self relocate.
